Team Scott Barrel Horses

Our family has always been competitive, in and out of the arena.  Although not a barrel racer herself, Patricia Seevers started a breeding line that till today we are still competing on the descendents of.  Her stud, True General, combined with Buzzy Cloud to produce winners such as Buzzin By, Buzzin up Trouble, and Fuzzy Wuzzy Buzzy.  Patricia pushed Mary to win and she instilled that same attitude with Jandee

Once Mary introduced Jandee to horses, it was a lost cause to take her off. She grew up riding horses and running barrels, winning one of her first buckles at the age of 3.  Throughout the years she competed heavily from gymkhannas, to barrel races, jr rodeos and onward.  Her freshman year of high school she qualified for the finals in barrels and in college went in the breakaway.  Jandee went from there to perfom on the ameture and national level, winning in both.  After graduating from the University of Nevada of Las Vegas with a B.S. in secondary education, she moved up to Red Bluff to work horses with her mom.

Together Mary and Jandee now reside in Red Bluff where, as a team, they continue to train, show and sell some of todays top barrel horses.

Mary had a lot of self discipline as a young girl being the only one in her family that continued to strive to have horses after the family moved to Las Vegas.  Some of her trials included very unbroke and unruly horses that Mary didn't have help with.  She was forced to do all the work herself, but in the end, it tuaght her many horsemanship skills.  Starting on the gymkhanna level, Mary worked hard with some her mounts from Steffie, Pet and many others.  Being pregnant didn't hold her back either, competing while she was carrying till she was 7 months along. Using horses as babysitters, Mary never slowed down and continued to train and sell many horses.  Today, she is known for having an eye for horses, a knack for picking bits, and knowledge for helping horses find their riders.
